Lou Lamoriello said that Adam Henrique will still be sitting out with a sore groin. It is undetermined how long he may be out but it shouldn’t be too much longer. Travis Zajac will also not be back in the lineup with the same Achilles injury. When asked if Zajac will miss the rest of the season Lamoriello said, “I’d be surprised. There’s every indication he’ll be OK.”

Jacob Josefson and Matt Taormina have been recalled back from Albany. They were only sent down to keep playing over the All Star break. Also Steve Bernier has also been called up today.

The Hockey Buzz has posted a good look at some Devils prospects. They go over the play of goaltender Scott Wedgewood and winger Reid Boucher. Wedgewood stopped 35 of 36 shots against the Barrie Colts of the OHL. Boucher has 21 goals this season in the OHL. In the article they compare him to Phil Kessel. So there is a lot of potential for the up and coming Devils. Give it a read.
Jacob Josefson and Matt Taormina have been sent down to Albany over the All Star Break to keep them fresh as Jacob Josefson has just come back from a broken collarbone injury. I would expect both to be back in the lineup after the All Star Break.
Adam Henrique and Adam Larsson will not be participating in this weekend’s All Star festivities in Ottawa. Henrique and Larsson both finished last night’s game with some health problems. Henrique tweaked his groin while Larsson had a sore wrist. The Devils will have no representatives in the All Star game or skills competition.

Martin Brodeur Postgame:
“We’re in the middle of the pack. We’ve struggled to win games and we just have to get to that level and I truly believe we’re capable of doing that.”
Pete DeBoer Postgame:
“We worked hard tonight. The guys for the most part have worked hard on a nightly basis the first half of the year. We’re not exactly where we want to be. We’re doing some good things. We’ll take a deep breath here and then get ready for the sprint to the finish line.”
Team Stats:
Sabres outdrew the Devils 26-22
Devils outshot the Sabres 28-14
Devils went 1 for 2 on the power play.
Sabres outhit the Devils 13-11
Player Stats:

The Fourth Period is reporting that the NHL may have to advance the Devils $20 million to be able to pay the payroll for the rest of season. One of the biggest contracts on the team is soon to be free agent Zach Parise.
Now it is already suspect that Parise may not be back with the team next season but it seems like the Devils may not be able to afford him for the rest of the season. So it may seem that the Devils might have to trade Parise for draft picks to ease up on some one the payroll.
This is troubling news for the Devils because there is no doubt that Zach Parise will bring in revenue next season should he resign but could really hurt the team off the ice should he depart. Definitely give this a read.
