“It’s where you’re going to make your brain-dead mistake that’s going to cost you the game. That one turnover, that one bad penalty, you have to be almost perfect to play these type of game. These are what the playoffs are going to be all about. We definitely need to come through in these games. I thought we played a similar game against Vancouver and we came on the wrong side of winning also.

Fact Of The Day: Blown Leads No Big Deal For Devils

So far this season the Devils have blown 13 3rd period leads. Of those 13 games, 6 have been decided in a shootout, 5 in overtime and 2 in regulation. The Devils are 4-2 in shootouts and 4-1 in overtime. So when it comes to crunch time for the Devils they some how know how to steal that extra point.

Photo Of The Game: Clarkson Keeps Scoring

David Clarkson scored his 23rd goal of the year last night in the Devils 4-3 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Clarkson is having a career year this season in scoring. He has 23 goals and 10 assists. His career highs before that were 17 goals and 15 assists in 08-09. Clarkson has attributed some of his success this season to first year Devils head coach Pete DeBoer, who coached Clarkson in juniors for the Kitchener Rangers.

Injury Report: Foster Out, Larsson Could Practice Soon, Zajac Not Skating

20120221-133107.jpg
Kurtis Foster skated with the team today in Toronto but will not play in the game tonight against the Maple Leafs. He sat out last game with back stiffness but he is expected to return Friday when the Devils take on the Canucks.

Adam Larsson is expected to return to practice by the end of the week. He is recovering from a bruised back he suffered from a hit against the Montreal Canadiens a couple weeks ago.

Travis Zajac has been out out of the lineup because the same Achilles problem that required surgery over the offseason. He came back for a short time over the season but still isn’t feeling right. He was suppose to start skating by the start of the week but is still not skating yet.
