Lineup Changes: No Kovalchuk, Home and Home Tandem

It was speculated all week that Ilya Kovalchuk was going to return to practice and game play from his lower body injury. He is officially out of next two games with a home and home series against the Washington Capitals. In his absence, the Devils have called up Vladimir Zharkov to filled Kovalchuk’s spot in the line up. Palmieri has taken Kovalchuk’s spot on the top line with Parise and Henrique.

There is also going to be some changes in net for the Devils during their home and home series. Martin Brodeur is going to be in net for the first game at home and Johan Hedberg will be in net in Washington. This will be good for both goaltenders to not over work them.
