Over at NHL.com, Mike Morreale writes that several Devils’ players give a ton of credit to the coaching staff for creating the perfect atmosphere inside the locker room.
I think Pete and his coaching staff has been unbelievable. We have great communication between coaches and players and the door is always open. We communicate a lot and it’s made a big difference, and we have a great mix of guys who are all really excited to be in this position.
-Ilya Kovalchuk told Morreale
Martin Brodeur has been with the organization for a long time, and he said its one of the best he has seen. Brodeur said, “Everyone has a part in that, but definitely the coaching staff.”
That was the problem last season. The Devils were not a good team under John MacLean beacuse the perfect atmosphere was not there. As for this season, it seems to me that this is one of the best coaching staffs in the National Hockey League.
