Running Commentary: Devils 2-2 Panthers (2nd Overtime)

2nd Overtime
Second overtime is underway.

Adam Henrique scores at 3:47 to win the game and the series for the Devils.

Overtime
Devils on the power play after Kris Versteeg gets called for slashing at 3:21.

After missing for a couple of minutes, Bryce Salvador is back.

First overtime over with the score still tied at 2-2. Shots Panthers 45, Devils 35.

3rd period 
Florida Panthers put the puck in the back of the net, but the referee calls for a goalie interference.  Goal immediately waived off at 1:50.

Peter Harrold gets called for holding at 4:44 and Panthers get a 4-on-3 advantage.

Stephen Weiss cuts the Devils lead in half with a power play goal at 5:02.

Since the Panthers scored, the energy has shifted over to the home team.

Marek Zidlicky called for delay of game shooting puck over glass with 3:48 to go in the third period.

Marcel Goc scores a power play goal and the game its tied at 2-2.

Third period is over and Game 7 is going into overtime. Panthers outshot the Devils 18-6 in the third period. 33-26 overall for the Panthers.

2nd Period
Stephen Gionta scores to give the Devils a 2-0 lead. Peter Harrold and Ryan Carter get the assist at 9:15.

A quiet back-and-forth first 6 minutes of the 2nd period. Shots 1-1 in the second period.

Second period is over and the Devils hold a 2-0 lead. Shots 11-2 for the Devils in the middle frame.  Overall, shots are 20-14 for Devils.

If the Devils win, they’ll play the Philadelphia Flyers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Rangers defeated the Ottawa Senators 2-1 in Game 7.

1st Period
Adam Henrique scores his first career playoff goal at 1:29 to give the Devils an early 1-0 lead. Anton Volchenkov and David Clarkson with the assists.

A nasty collision between Panther teammates John Madden and Toms Kopecky. Madden went off to locker room with towel over his face. He was bleeding.

Four on Four action after Bryce Salvador and Erik Gudbranson receive 2 minutes each for roughing at 6:04.

Devils with a 4-on-3 advantage after Dmitry Kulikov is off to the box with a hooking penalty at 7:16.

Another four on four for the next two minutes. Clarkson off for diving and Ed Jovanovski for holding. Both penalties at 10:39.

The Devils hold a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes. Shots are 12-9 for the Panthers.
