Prior to yesterday’s Devils vs. Panthers game, Hockeybuzz’s Todd Cordell tweeted,
Darren Dreger just said on TSN that he expects Brodeur to return for one more year, but if he doesn’t NJ could have interest in Luongo
Earlier in the day, reports emerged from Vancouver that Roberto Luongo would waive his no-trade clause if Canucks choose Cory Schneider.
First of all, Martin Brodeur is not going anywhere next season. I am 99.9 % sure that he will be back with the Devils. Second of all, Luongo is not the same Luongo I remember when it comes to the decisive games. He is already 33-years old and has 10 more years left on his 12-year contract. Also, his cap hit is $5.33 million.
On the other side, Corey Schneider, who is seven years younger then Luongo, will become a restricted free agent on July 1st.
